Good afternoon,

Wishing you all a happy and healthy spring season. As you prepare for spring cleaning, you will likely come across some income tax documents that you can gather with your tax package to submit to us.  Our professional staff are here to serve you and committed to providing exceptional service in completing your personal tax returns and answering tax related inquiries.

With the upcoming May 2nd income tax return filing deadline fast approaching (April 30thfalls on a Saturday this year), I wanted to offer you some final tips of some of the documents to include in your tax package, allowing us to optimize your tax position.

  1. Income slips (T4, T4A, T3, T5 etc.
  2. Covid relief income slips (usually in the form of a T4A)
  3. RRSP slips
  4. Home Office Expenses (deduction eligible at $2 per day up to a maximum of $500 if you worked from home for more than 50% of the time in 2021)
  5. Investment management fees (for non registered accounts only)
  6. Interest on investments
  7. Child Care expenses
  8. Tuition slips
  9. Professional & union dues
  10. Disability support expenses
  11. Details on the disposition of your principle residence
  12. Details of the purchase of a new home in 2021
  13. Details of 2021 installment payments (if applicable)
  14. Details of foreign property owned
  15. Digital news subscription

We have several methods of communication available to submit your documents to us or answer any tax related questions.  These include contacting us via telephone, e-mail, and video conferencing.  If you would like to set up a meeting, please feel free to call the office.

Here are some suggestions for sending us your tax documents:

  1. Similar to last year, we have added a box in our lobby for personal tax documents if you wish to drop them off.
  2. You may also courier or mail your package to us as many have done in the past.
  3. You may send us the documents digitally via any of the following options:
    1. Email
    2. Dropbox
    3. Google Drive
    4. Box
